Beautiful vintage Navajo turquoise and coral decorated shadowbox bolo tie. The silversmith has mounted both a teal blue-green turquoise nugget and a 1” long cut and polished piece of branch coral. Both are set into sawtooth bezels wrapped with twisted wire. Attached to a scorched silver plate with silver drops above and below the stones. The artist continues by adding decorative plant/vines that twisted up both sides and connect across the top and bottom in a shadowbox effect. The original cord was dry-rotted and one end tip was missing so we have added a new 4-ply braided black leather cord and sterling seamed bead end tips.

The bolo setting measures 2 1/2” tall by 1 7/8” across tapering down to 1 7/16” across the bottom. As stated above we added a new 4-ply cord that measures 45” long end to end which includes the new sterling silver 2 1/4” long 8mm seamed bead end tips. It weighs 57.6 grams (2.03 oz or 1.85 ozt) and it’s stamped with a BENNETT PAT.PEND. bolo clasp and hallmarked with Gilbert Ortega’s Sunface HMIJ (Hand Made Indian Jewelry) along with the letter T. I attribute the silversmith as Navajo Richard T. Thomas and made in early to mid 1980’s. Guarantee sterling silver. $678.95
