Nice vintage 60’s-70’s Hopi turquoise badger/bear paw overlay bolo tie. The small setting displays in my opinion, a sterling silver overlay badger paw with a flush inlay turquoise stone as the pad of the paw. The longer pointed claws point to a badger. The silversmith has applied an etched texture in the base oxidized black area and has used a BENNETT PAT. PEND. C-31 bolo clasp which was produced from 1957 through 1967, but I give some leeway for overstock into the early 1970’s. From 1967 to 1983 the Bennett clasp just had Bennett Pat. Pend. without the C-31. The artist has used a tight hand braided leather cord with 6mm bead sterling silver end tips. I would say the end tips are replacements?

The small vintage badger turquoise overlay bolo setting measures 1 1/4” by 15/16” across tapering down to 5/8” across the bottom. The 4-ply cord measures 35” long which includes the 1 3/4” long 6mm sterling bead end tips. The complete bolo tie weighs 21.3 grams and is unsigned sterling silver. $188.95
