Vintage 60’s-70’s Navajo turquoise shadowbox squashblossom necklace. The silversmith has used one hundred thirty eight (138) 8mm sterling silver seemed beads along with ten (10) turquoise shadowbox blossoms, and a large seven (7) turquoise shadowbox settings mounted double wire naja. Each turquoise stone is set into a sawtooth bezel mounted to an oxidized silver base. All of the shadowbox settings have been stamped with a star symbol except one which is possibly the silversmiths hallmark. If looking at the picture it’s the first blossom to the left. The original necklace had been strung on wire which had broke and we re-strung on a silver chain with new shepherd’s hook clasp.

The necklace measures 25” long end to end with a wearable length of 15 1/4” measured from clasp down one side to bottom of the naja. Each blossom measures 1 9/16” by 3/4” across and the large naja measures 3 3/8” by 3 5/8” across. The complete necklace weighs 143.1 grams (5.04 oz or 4.60 ozt) and is unsigned sterling silver unless the hallmark is on the blossom as described above.
