WOW! Vintage 20’s-30’s Mexican sterling silver triple Suns/Flowers brooch. The silversmith has created three (3) large silver domes lining them across the face of the brooch. The artist finishes decorating by encircling each dome with ten (10) silver beads. Finishing the brooch by attaching a straight pin with handmade C-clasp on the back. This is a very old Mexican made brooch!

The brooch measures 7/8” tall by 2 1/4” across and weighs 9.2 grams. It’s stamped on the back SILVER - MEXICO by the silversmith. Based on that and the fact of the old C-clasp pin I attribute the brooch being made in the 1920’s or 1930’s. The Mexican government use to regulate the silver industry and made the silversmiths register with the government so they could track the amount of silver being sold and who the artist was that bought/made the jewelry. That basically started in the mid-late 1930’s so the brooch was made before the registry. Nice very old vintage Mexican sterling silver brooch. The patina build leads to at least sterling 925 silver. Nickle silver doesn’t tarnish and Alpaca silver only contains 70% or less silver which the mix of brass or copper causes the silver to have a yellowish sheen. Very nice collector’s Mexican brooch! $188.95
