Extra large vintage Hopi silver overlay water symbols ring. Bold oblong oval face displaying numerous symbols related to water. The silversmith finishes by attaching a wide solid split shank band.

The ring face measures 2” by 3/4” across and weighs a hefty 12.9 grams. It’s a size 6 3/4 and hallmarked with a Coyote Head - STERLING - Hop Silvercraft Guild. We attribute the ring to Hopi Silversmith Dewan Sumatzkuku. Hopi Silver book states he began in 1948 on the G.I. Bill and produced through 1951 making the ring a rare collectable piece. Originally the Hopi didn’t etch the oxidized blackened base where now they texture prior to attaching the polished overlay. This ring shows the most opened areas with a texture, but no texture in the thin spaces and splits. $438.95
