Nice vintage Zuni turquoise sandcast Knifewing deity bolo tie. The bolo displays a Zuni Deity of War made from a sandcast showing detail. The artist continues by mounting a polished turquoise nugget to the chest of the War God. Legend has it that the Knifewing has feathers made of obsidian knives. During war he would fly ahead of the warriors shooting and killing the enemy while opening up a weakness in the enemies front line. This would allow the warriors an area that could easily be penetrated in the enemy lines.

The Knifewing measures 1 1/2” by 1 1/4” across. It connected to a 4-ply braided black leather cord using two (2) solid wire slides. The cord measures 37” long which includes the 1 7/8” long small 4mm seamed bead sterling end tips. The complete bolo tie weighs 22 grams and is unsigned sandcast sterling silver.
