Extra large vintage Zuni style multi stone raised inlay Knifewing Deity bolo with custom elk ivory end tips. The artist has created a large Knifewing Deity using an array of different stones and shells along with actual ivory. The face and the two outer pieces of the loincloth are ivory with the rest of the Knifewing consisting of turquoise, coral, mother of pearl, a single piece of grey smoke shell, and onyx or black jet. The black doesn’t look like jet so going with black onyx. Stone to stone inlay and channel inlay with twisted wire running across the top of both wings and down the sides of the legs. There’s four (4) repousse’ stampings supposed to look like silver drops. The large Knifewing is attached to a 4-ply braided black leather cord and the artist has created custom end tips with large elk ivory teeth attached to the tips. A Lot of people don’t realize it, but an elks back molars are made of ivory just as a walrus or elephant.

The Knifewing Deity measures 3 1/4” tall by 2 3/4” across with the 4-ply cord measuring 41” long which includes the 2 3/4” long custom end tips. The complete bolo tie weighs 67.2 grams (2.37 oz or 2.16 ozt) and is unsigned. Appears the back side is nickel silver because it hasn’t tarnished. It does have sterling silver channels between the stones, twisted wires, and end tips and they were tarnished. $589.95
