Beautiful vintage Choctaw turquoise bear claw decorative stamped beaded squashblossom necklace. The silversmith went “all out” in decorating this bear claw squash by first applying decorative stampwork on each bead, top and bottom. The necklace consists of one hundred four (104) decorative stamped 8mm beads, twelve (12) decorative stamped double 12mm bead trefold blossoms. Notice how small the trefold flutes whine down to a point before being soldered to the double 14mm beads. Something not normally done on other squashblossom necklaces. The artist continued by creating a bold solid double bear claw naja using two (2) real black bear claws along with heavily decoration which includes; Three (3) oval cut and polished green Royston turquoise stones set into smooth silver bezels, a single flower bloom, four (4) silver leaves, four (4) silver feathered prayer fans, six (6) normal scrolls, one (1) sunrise stamped button, and eleven (11) silver drops in various sizes. All mounted on a thick gauge sheet silver base with deep decorative stamped half round wire running down both sides of the naja with the end tips hammered flat. All strung on foxtail chain with a crimped on shepherd’s hook and eye clasp.

The beautiful highly decorated necklace measures 25 1/4” long end to end with a wearable length of 14 1/2” long measured from clasp down one side to bottom of the naja. Each double bead trefold blossom measures approximately 1 7/16” by 7/16”” with the naja measuring 2 5/8” by 2 1/2” across. The complete necklace weighs 155.5 grams (5.49 oz or 5.00 ozt) and is hallmarked STERLING - DB. We bought two (2) necklaces very similar, but this one has slightly smaller trefold blossoms, yet two (2) more of them. 12mm double beads instead of 14mm and slightly smaller naja along with being 7 grams lighter.
