Older 50’s-70’s Navajo turquoise decorated eagles dress belt buckle. The silversmith has created a textured bas using a punch point and overlaid decorative cut and stamped eagle busts with wing pointing outwards to two corners of the buckle along with tail feathers overlaid into the other corners. The outer corners are rounded off. Across the center the artist has set three (3) turquoise nuggets in a row. Each nugget set into a scallop cut bezel with two (2) large silver drops between one stone to the next. The center stone shows a divot which I presume was soft matrix falling out? The silversmith has hand made the belt catch using half round with a round wire capping off both ends of the round wire. Finishing with a solid set pin.

The belt buckle measures 3” across by 1 7/8” tall weighing 46.9 grams (1.654 oz or 1.508 ozt). Unsigned sterling silver. I’m listing this as a dress buckle based on the fact it will only hold a belt 7/8” wide. Might squeeze a 1” wide belt, but will be tight.
