Beautiful rare vintage Zuni yellow pearl shell mosaic/fish scale channel inlay belt buckle. The artist has used numerous pieces of yellow shell to create the mosaic channel inlay. Often named “fish scale” due to it’s resemblance to actual scales on a fish. Varying on how the light shines on the pieces of shell it gives a unique mesmerizing reflection. Each piece changes from a somewhat butterscotch appearance to a light yellowish rainbow appearance.. All channel inlaid and set inside silver frame consisting of triangular wire. The artist finishes by adding a swivel type belt catch and sturdy set pin to the back side.
