Beautifully created vintage 70’s Navajo turquoise and coral chip inlay Waterbird raised overlay shadowbox watchband. The unique watch tips consist of four (4) layers of silver. The first layer or base has been oxidized black. The artist then mounts the decorative texture stamped side pieces on top of the oxidized base section. The center section is actually two (2) pieces of sheet silver which consist of the Waterbird and the upper and lower pedestals that display the sunrise stampwork with the top piece cut out so the chip inlay can be accomplished and causes the Waterbird section to set slightly higher than the two (2) side sections. Way more workmanship than casually noticed at first glance! The artist finishes by attaching both the watch shank tubes and a wire hoop at bottom to attach the stretchband.

Each watch tip measures 1 1/4” tall by 13/16” across tapering down to 11/16” across the bottom. The watch shank tube measures between 11-12mm (approx. 7/16”). We installed a new 3 1/8” stainless steel adjustable stretchband and can exchange for a longer or shorter band if requested. Click Here to see the different lengths. The complete watchband weighs 21.8 grams and is signed with either a “W”, an “M”, or two “V’s”. I tried to find the silversmith in the hallmark books, but didn’t see anything that looked like what’s on the watch tips? Whoever the artist is did excellent work!
