Solid heavy vintage Zuni carved turquoise personalized CK sterling silver handmade belt buckle. The silversmith has created a very solid and heavy rectangular dress belt buckle using a thick gauge of sterling silver. The artist has made a silver overlay with the base silver displaying a jagged overlay on top of a scorched blackened base. The artist then has applied a full overlay of polished silver with a cut out exposing the previously mentioned design and in appearance creates a frame around the center. The artist mounts a carved and polished turquoise nugget in center setting it into a sawtooth bezel along with adding the customized initials of CK that flank the stone on both sides. The thick overlay silver has been folded on top and bottom which allows the belt to somewhat set inside the buckle. The silversmith finishes by attaching a solid silver belt clasp and set pin on the back side.

The customized belt buckle measures 1 1/8” tall by 2 5/8” across. It weighs 44.6 grams (1.57 oz or 1.43 ozt) and is stamped STERLING - HANDMADE by the artist. It will ideally accommodate a belt 7/8” to 15/16” wide and a 1” wide may be a little tight to fit. The belt buckle shows signs of previous wear with numerous small and light scratches which isn’t too bad considering the buckle was most likely made in the 1950’s.
