Large vintage 70’s- early 90’s Navajo turquoise, coral, 3-D Bear decorated belt buckle. The silversmith has started with a large convex oval base adding a three dimensional silver case bear jumping out from the buckle in the center. He adds a cut and polished blue turquoise nugget with black matrix to the side of both shoulders of the bear along with a piece of branch coral under the bear. All set into sawtooth bezels. The artist continues decorating by adding a small set of two (2) silver feathers above the bear, a medium set of feathers to one side of the bear, and a large set of feathers to the opposite side of the bear. He uses eight (8) coiled scrolls, four (4) normal scrolls, and thirty one (31) silver drops of various sizes to continue decorating and filling any voids. The artist completes decorating by running twisted wire and heavy gauge deep stamped smooth wire around the outer rim of the buckle. Finishing by attaching a swivel type belt clasp and solid set pin on the back side.

The large belt buckle measures 3 1/8” by 3 1/2” across measured on the outside and 2 15/16” by 3 3/8” across the inside.
