Extra large and bold vintage Santo Domingo turquoise inset shell necklace! The necklace consists of an extra large white sea shell with turquoise chips, a brown/tan crushed shell with rainbow reflecting specks, and some sort of reddish crushed powder inset into the grooves of the shell. The artist uses a primitive wire pin with a 6mm silver seamed bead on inside of shell and two (2) 6mm silver seamed beads on the outside of shell. The pin has been permanently attached to a very heavy and solid sterling silver Rolo chain which has a spring loaded clasp.

The shell itself measures 3 3/8" long by 3 5/8" across. The Rolo Chain measures approximately 24" end to end and with the shell has a wearable length of 16" long. The large heavy chain itself weighs approximately 43 grams (1.52 ounces or 1.38 troy ounces with total weight with shell being 77.8 grams (2.74 ounces or 2.50 troy ounces).
