Item #906E- Vintage Solid Wide Navajo Turquoise Coral Chip Inlay Design Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet by Juan Singer
Wide, solid, vintage Navajo turquoise and coral chip inlay design cuff bracelet. The silversmith has created a wide, heavy, and solid cuff in an overlay technique filling the cut outs of the overlay with turquoise and coral chips. Appears the design references Thunderbirds along with alertness. The design has been framed inside turquoise chips that display two (2) Thunderbirds flying head on. You can see the tail feathers and wings of the birds at both ends coming to a point where the head turns both left and right in the silver. There’s turquoise chip inlay arrowheads in the tail feathers which would coincide with alertness and combine with the bird’s heads being alert and turning to each side. In the center there’s a tribal symbol filled with coral chips which relate to water. At both ends of the cuff the artist has added multiple sunrise stampwork which can be construed to be clouds.
