Wide, large vintage 60’s-70’s Zuni turquoise cluster watchcuff. The artist has used sixty four (64) teardrop cut pieces of turquoise and forty eight (48) round button cut pieces of turquoise in the creation of the wide watchcuff. All set in very fine serrated bezels and stacked evenly in rows separated with twisted wire from the other rows of stones. Four (4) rows in center of eight (8) teardrop turquoise stones that butt into the watch setting on both sides and two (2) rows of twenty four (24) round turquoise buttons that run end to end along the outer rims. The artist attaches deep stamped heavier gauge wire along the outer rims along with attaching sun ray stamped watch guards and tin watch straps in the center face of the watchcuff. The stones are set in an oxidized silver base and the rest of the silver has a good matching patina. A lot of tedious time consuming workmanship in the creation of this wearable piece of art!

The wide watchcuff measures 2 1/2” in width with an inner circumference of 5 7/8” along with a 1 1/4” opening. The watchcuff will fit a wrist between 7 and 7 1/4” with little or no adjustment. If adjusting more than 7 1/4” be sure to check that all of the stones are still tight in their bezels. The watchcuff weighs 129.7 grams (4.57 oz or 4.17 ozt) and is hallmarked JM. We attribute the artist as Zuni silversmith Juan Martinez. He started creating jewelry in 1962 and used the JM mark from 1962-1972 changing his hallmark to J.Martinez in 1974.
