Beautiful Zuni multi stone Sunface cobblestone inlay collector’s watchband. The silversmith has created a Sunface/Sun God in the center using serpentine, brown agate, turquoise, yellow shell, black jet, coral, and mother of pearl incased inside a circular square wire case. The artist continues by filling the background with jet, coral, and turquoise in cobblestone inlay. The artist has framed the stone decoration inside a square wire frame and has ran decorative stamped wire down both outer edges of the watch tip. Finishing each watch tip by running a wire across the bottom to attach the stretchband and adding a barrel tube with a decorative stamped sunburst watch guard at top of watch tips..

The watch tips measure 1 3/8” by 1 1/8” across tapering down to 13/16” across the bottom. The barrel tubes measure 18mm.The watch tips come attached to a 3 1/2” long adjustable Speidel stainless steel stretchband. We can exchange for a longer or shorter generic stretchband if requested. Click Here to see the different lengths. The complete watchband weighs 58.8 grams (2.07 oz or 1.89 ozt) and is stamped VMB. There’s two different silversmith that use this mark. Victor Moses Begay and Valentino (b.1955 - present) and Matilda (b.1955 - Deceased) Banteah. We believe the artist is Valentino Banteah. Hallmark book shows Matilda as deceased and also shows early mark as V.M.B. and later using VMB without the periods between initials. Taking a shot in the dark and saying after his wife passed on he started using the new hallmark? The style is typical to there work and not so of Begay.
