Solid vintage 40’s Navajo turquoise repousse’ stamped collector’s linked concho belt. Beautiful handmade circular conchos with circular repousse’ stamped in center. The silversmith has attached a cut and polished green-blue turquoise nuggets sporting golden brown and brown matrix in smooth bezels wrapped with twisted wire and mounted in the center of the circular conchos. Each circular concho is finished with repeat mountain sunrise stampwork around the outer rim. The silversmith has created small butterfly links to connect the conchos using a rectangular shaped wire link and soldering the decorative stamped butterfly to the face. Each butterfly displays sunrise stamping in all four corners with stamped lines and a stick of round wire representing the butterflies body. The complete belt consists of fourteen (14) circular repousse’ conchos and fourteen (14) butterfly links. One end of the belt has an open clip attached to the circular concho with the opposite end sporting a butterfly link to connect to.

Each circular concho measures 1 1/2” diameter and the butterfly links measure 3/4” by 3/4” which includes the extended wire link. The actual butterfly measures 3/4” by 9/16” across. The complete belt measures 36” long end to end and weighs 139.4 grams (4.91 oz or 4.48 ozt). From the appearance of the even patina I would guess it being made with coin silver (90% silver) and the popularity of the era of melting actual coins to make ingot silver. It’s at least coin or sterling silver (92.5%) and unsigned. Very nice collector’s concho belt in very good condition with a nice even patina! $739.95
