Beautiful vintage Navajo sandcast silver repousse’ stamped concho pin/brooch. The silversmith made a casting of the concho in sandstone pouring molten silver into the cast. Before the silver completely hardened the artist applied repousse’ stamping on both sides and continued by applying repeat Thunderbird symbols across the top and bottom inside a stamped border finishing decoration with a circular stamp in the center. The brooch was found in a fire rubble and was completely black with soot and broken/missing pin on the back. We revived the piece by cleaning, buffing, and polishing along with installing a new pin on the back. It could pass for brand new now!

The concho pin measures 1 3/8” by 2 1/4” across and weighs 13.5 grams. It’s hallmarked RJ - STERLING by Navajo silversmith Robert Joe. Just like the Phoenix or Thunderbird, it has risen from the fire as new! $79.95
