Heavy solid vintage Navajo turquoise and coral chip inlay waterbirds with hearts watchcuff. The silversmith has created a stout, solid silver cuff and applied repeat circular stamping on both sides giving the cuff a textured background. He then has attached silver waterbirds on both sides with areas cut out to set the chip inlay. The artist also includes area in the birds backs to set a silver heart into. He has applied the turquoise and coral chips using the coral mainly to highlight the wing tips, tail feathers, and around the silver hearts. The artist continues decorating by adding details to the birds like eyes, beak, and rings around the necks. The native community calls the birds waterbirds relating to any water related birds such as ducks and geese. The silversmith finishes by attaching decorative stamped prayer feather fans as watch guards and tin strips to secure the watch.

The watch cuff measures 1 1/2” wide on both sides narrowing to 1” wide where the watch sets. It holds an inner circumference of 5 3/8” plus a 1 1/8” opening. It will fit a wrist size of 6 3/8” to 6 1/2” and cannot be adjusted. The cuff is very stout and solid! Any adjustment will cause damage to the stone inlay. The watch cuff weighs a hefty 100.4 grams (3.54 oz or 3.23 ozt) and is hallmarked C J staggered by Navajo silversmith Corbet Joe. The watchcuff shows previous stone repair, but doesn’t take away from the full beauty of the watch cuff. We have adjusted the price to accommodate the repair.
