Beautiful solid vintage Zuni turquoise and coral pettitpoint flower spinner collector’s pendant. The husband and wife artists have created two (2) pettitpoint satellite cluster/flowers, one with turquoise and the other using coral. Both pettitpoint clusters have the center round cut stone wrapped with twisted wire along with the whole cluster encircled with twisted wire. Encircling the outer rim is a mixed and repeating repousse’ crescent moon and silver drop. The artist puts both decorative settings back-to-back and solders them together along with a short circular tube on the top and bottom. To complete the spinner the artists design a large half round heavy gauge ring and solders a pin at top and bottom. Prior to soldering the circular band together on the side they install the centerpiece so that it will spin freely on the set pins. They finish by soldering together the wire hoop and soldering a jump ring on the top as a bale. NOTE: how small the pettitpoint stones have been cut and set into hand cut serrated bezels. (This small intricate work has been known to cause some of the Zuni artist to go blind at an early age as young as in their 30’s.)

The complete pendant measures 1 5/16” diameter and including the bale stands 1 1/2” tall. The pettitpoint spinner measures 1” diameter not including the barrels at top and bottom. It weighs 12 grams and is hallmarked on the inside of the circular wire hoop Fred and Elsie - ZUNI, N.M. in script by Fred and Elsie Lonconsello (Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks by B.Hougart p.208).
