Vintage 80’s-90’s Navajo decorative overlay and stamped prayer dancer silver pendant. The silversmith has created a somewhat storyteller prayer dancer using overlay and decorative stampwork technics. The prayer dancer holds an eagle prayer feather in one hand and a gourd rattle in the other hand while singing and praying to the gods. He wears a decorative feather headdress, decorative buckskin long sleeve top and leather pants, knee high moccasins, and a decorative belt sash.

The prayer dancer measures 2 1/2” tall by 1 1/4” across and weighs 11.7 grams. It’s been hallmarked B C T - STERLING in gothic lettering. The “C” is a cent symbol which belonged to noted Navajo silversmith Floyd Becenti. Rumor has it that the hallmark was once shared with Floyd’s brother Lloyd and they got into a scuffle and the hallmark was broken. I don’t believe there was ever a new hallmark stamp made and know that Floyd doesn’t use a hallmark with the “Cent” symbol now a days.
