Vintage 70’s Navajo multi stone inlay Black Apache Ghan Dancer ring. The artist has used an oval cut and polished mother of pearl as the background cutting out the Ghan dancer and filling with multiple pieces of different stones and shells. The artist uses turquoise, coral tortoise shell, black jet, and white shell applying it into a stone-to-stone inlay to build the Ghan dancer. Set into a smooth silver bezel wrapped with twisted wire. The artist has encircled the setting with silver crescent moon wires at to and bottom with double stamped sun buttons on both sides. The artist finishes decorating by adding scroll wires between the four directional path markers. As you can see, one of the buttons hasn’t been stamped. Native silversmiths would leave a discrepancy as a telltale sign to let other silversmiths know who made the piece. The artist finishes the ring by attaching a split shank wire band.

The ring face measures 1 5/8” by 1 3/8” across and weighs 15.1 grams. It’s a size 8 1/2 and has been fainty etched N. - R.B. If this is the hallmark of the artist it would evidently stand for Navajo and either Richard or Rita Begay? Beautiful vintage Apache Ghan inlay ring! $113.95
