Vintage Navajo Prayer Feather silver overlay collector's bolo. The silversmith has created a silver overlay highlighting an eagle prayer feather along with other native symbols. Greek keys and double arrowheads which could represent water and crops. The artist has displayed very fine detail, especially in the creation of the prayer feather. The original braided leather cord was dry rotted and it was missing one of the end tips so we installed a new 4-ply cord and sterling end tips. Ready to serve many more years of enjoyment!

The bolo setting measures 2 1/8" tall by 2 1/16" across narrowing to 1 1/4" across the bottom. As stated above it comes with a new braided black leather 4-ply cord that measures 46" long which includes the new sterling silver 2 1/8" long beaded end tips. The complete bolo weighs 40.8 grams (1.44 oz or 1.31 ozt) and is hallmarked with a Medicineman's Dipper - STERLING by the Navajo silversmith. According to our hallmark reference both Willie Yazzie Sr and Jr used this hallmark. Willie Yazzie Sr produced from 1930-1980's and passed away in 1999. Willie Yazzie Jr began producing in 1950 and evidently is still active. I would say there's possibility of either one creating this piece and would say it was made in 80's-90's. Very nice Navajo collector's bolo!  $239.95
