Beautiful, heavy, solid, high end vintage Navajo sun burst/Greek key/water wave silver overlay concho bolo with added decoration and end tips. The silversmith has used heavy thick gauge silver in creating this magnificent piece of wearable Navajo art. The bolo setting displays approximately three (3) tiers of decorative silver overlay designs starting with the outer tier sporting ketoh design in each corner with sunburst rays in each of the four directional paths. The artist adds a rising oval tier with repeating Greek key design and tops off the setting with a third tier displaying a sun. Each tier displays a silver overlay design that rises to a peak of the solid oval sun. The artist mounts the setting to a high quality 8-ply braided black leather cord which has a flat strap that ride across the back of the neck. The artist also decorates with four (4) decorative silver overlay barrels, two (2) that slide on the cord and the other two (2) being part of the end tips which also have domed oval silver overlays displaying a sun with both sun rays and Greek keys shooting from the sun.

The large bolo setting measures 2 5/8" by 2 1/8" across and is approximately 3/8" thick. The two (2) shorter barrel slides measure 1 5/16" long with the combination barrel/concho end tips measuring 3 1/8" long by 7/8" wide (barrel is 1 1/2" and concho is 1 3/8" tall by 7/8" across with the connecting jump rings amounting to 1/4" length). The bolo setting slides on the cord using two (2) oval rings. The complete bolo weighs 137.4 grams (4.85 oz or 4.42 ozt) and is hallmarked SB - STERLING by the Navajo silversmith. I attribute the high end bolo to multiple award winner Steven Begay. (American Indian Jewelry ll: A-L by Gregory Schaaf p.92). One of the strands in the cord does have a break, but doesn't risk breaking completely. We have adjusted the price appropriately. Very nice, bold, beautiful, and solid high end Navajo collector's wearable art!  $599.95
