Beautiful vintage Navajo 12KGF Kokopelli overlay with lapis lazuli setting bolo. The silversmith has used an abstract square base texturizing approximately 3/4 of the base and applying repeat sunrise and water symbols stampwork down the rest of the base on smooth silver. He has overlaid a 12K gold filled Kokopelli deity playing his flute along with a nice deep blue oval cut and polished lapis lazuli stone which is set in a 12K gold filled smooth bezel than presumably represents the sun. Attached to a thin 4-ply braided black leather cord with sterling silver seamed bead end tips. The Kokopelli deity is known as the fertility God. Legend has it that he would dance and play music all night with the tribal members until everyone could stay awake anymore. When morning came Kokopelli was gone, but all the crops had grown and fully matured along with all the women of the tribe becoming pregnant.

The bolo setting measures 2" by 1 1/4" across the top narrowing to 1" across the bottom. The cord measures 36" long which includes the 1 3/4" end tips. It's been hallmarked 1/2012KG.F. - STERLING - RJ staggered by Navajo silversmith Richard Johnson. Very nice Navajo bolo!  $149.95
