Vintage 50's-70's Navajo four (4) stone turquoise carinated wire bracelet. Very solid, the silversmith used four (4) cut and polished oval turquoise nuggets with brown matrix. Each set flush into smooth silver bezels and wrapped with twisted wire. The artist created a double carinated wire cuff which has been soldered together at both ends. They have set the stones slightly recessed in the cuff. For those not aware, the difference between carinated wire and triangular wire is that old silversmiths didn't have access to pre-made triangular wire so they would actually heat the standard wire and pull it through a triangular dye. It's normally easy to tell the difference due to the inconsistency in the carinated wire being wider, then smaller, then wide again. Showing the hesitation of the artist pulling it through the dye. Obviously, this process took tirelessly and painstaking time to just make the carinated wire.

The bracelet measures 11/16" wide with an inner circumference of 4 7/8" and a 1  1/16" opening. It will fit a 5 3/4" to 5 7/8" wrist and cannot be adjusted without possible damage to the bracelet. It weighs 23.7 grams and is unsigned sterling (92.5%) or coin (90%) silver. Very nice solid vintage turquoise bracelet for a small wrist!  $217.95
