Large beautiful vintage Mexican multiple stone chip inlay fish brooch/pin! The religious symbol fish known as "Ichthys" or "Ichthyology" in the Christian belief displays a body of many different stone chips in an epoxy enamel and set into the sterling silver fish. Some of the stones are turquoise, malachite, and black jet or onyx along with white, yellow, and red chips. The artist has added a solid copper button for the fishes eye, has inset the silver rim to form the mouth, and extended the silver wire for the tail fins. The artist finishes by attaching a long safety locking pin/clasp on the back side.

The fish measures 3 1/8" long by 5/8" across the tail fins and weighs 8.3 grams. The tail fins have been stamped with what appears to be MEXICO - TRP922 by the Mexican artist. Guaranteed Sterling Silver. I'm guessing this pin was made in the 40's-50's and maybe earlier? Beautiful vintage Mexican crafted religious fish brooch/pin!  $47.95
