Beautiful heavy vintage Navajo Persian turquoise squashblossom necklace! Most likely 60's-70's era made with a total of one hundred twenty six (126) large silver 9mm seamed beads, ten (10) Persian turquoise blossoms that measure from 2" by 7/8" up to 2 3/8" by 1", and a large double wire seven (7) stone Persian turquoise naja with a blossom in the center. The actual stones measure between 3/4" by 9/16" up to 1 1/4" by 3/4" on the blossoms. The stones on the naja measure 1/2" by 3/8" up to 5/8" by 7/16" with the larger center stone measuring 7/8" by 3/4". Persian turquoise is one of the hardest and most sought after turquoise in the world. Each turquoise blossom consists of the stone set into a smooth bezel and wrapped with twisted wire. He then encircles the setting with decorative stamped smooth wire and adds a raised shield across the bottom that also has decorative stampwork around the top and bottom. They finish the blossom by attaching a trefold pointed flute to the underside.

The complete naja measures 3 1/4" by 3 1/4" across. The full necklace measures 26" end to end with a wearable length of 15 1/2" long and is strung on heavy silver link chain with a hook-n-eye clasp.
