Extra large bold solid vintage Navajo handmade repousse' stamped decorated buckle! The buckle displays a diamond eye sunburst stamped in center with decorative stamped brush or sticker bushes to each side. The silversmith surrounds the diamond eye with six (6) deep hand punched repousse areas that create a wheel or directional pattern. In each corner the artist has stamped a nine (9) point stamping that makes a square and at the top and bottom has also stamped four (4) point square. Each of these stampings coincide with the tips of the repousse' stamping. All applied to a large hand cut silver base. The silversmith finishes the buckle by attaching a copper belt catch pin and solid copper belt holder.

The buckle measures approximately 3" by 3 9/16" across and weighs 50.2 grams (1.77 ounces or 1.61 troy ounces). It is unsigned Sterling Silver. The buckle will accommodate up to a 1" wide belt. I'm estimating the buckle was made during the 1950's-60's era, but it could be older? It shows a few scratches, mainly on the edges, but is in great condition for it's age.
