Beautiful bold vintage 70's Hopi Longhair Katsina overlay ring band! The solid ring band consists of three (3) overlaid Longhair Katsina busts repeating around the band. The silversmith mounts the overlay onto a blackened, scorched, and textured silver band. The ring band measures 3/8" wide and weighs 7.5 grams. It's a size 10 3/4 and is hallmarked with a Medicine Bowl - Nakwichakafta by Hopi silversmith Steven Pooyouma Kuyvaya. Very nice bold men's Hopi ring band!
Angak'tsina or Longhair is perhaps the most friendly of the friendly katsinam. He is truly a Hopi Katsina, as indicated by the traditional hair-style worn by Hopi men after their initiation into the priesthood society. Eagle fluffs are worn on the katsina's long hair and beard which represents a cloud burst or rain.
