Beautiful High Quality Vintage Turquoise Coral Circled Cross Pendant
Beautiful collector's piece! Very old vintage carved turquoise and coral circled cross pendant! The artist uses fourteen (14) pieces of original Mediterranean coral and twenty nine (29) hand carved and polished pieces of blue turquoise to create this beautiful and time consuming piece! All of the coral is cut flush with the smooth silver holder with each piece of the turquoise hand cut and polished to rise out of the multiple smooth bezel designs that creates the cross. All mounted to a hand cut silver base with the outer rim wrapped with twisted wire. The artist finishes my adding a small silver ring with a small silver drop to each side that holds the heavy gauge hand made silver bale. The beautiful pendant measures 1 13/16" diameter and including the bale is 2 3/8" tall. It weighs 17.5 grams and is hallmarked 925 sterling silver by the artist. Not sure if this is native made or not, but it's top of the line quality hand made! As you can see in the main picture a couple of the turquoise snake eyes are starting to turn from human oils and acids. Good sign the turquoise is natural untreated.
