Item # 491F - XLG Vintage 70's-80's Navajo 16 Stone Turquoise Squashblossom Necklace
Extra large bold 70's-80's vintage Navajo sixteen stone turquoise squashblossom necklace! Made with a total of one hundred eighteen (118) silver 8mm seamed beads, eight (8) large turquoise blossoms, and an extra large eight (8) stone turquoise naja. Each turquoise stone on the side blossoms measure between 1/2" across by 5/8" long up to 3/4" across by 1 1/4" long and the stones on the naja measure between 1/2" across by 3/4" long up to 3/4" across by 1 3/8" long with the center drop stone measuring 1" by 1 1/8" tall. Each turquoise blossom consists of a turquoise stone set into a smooth bezel wrapped with twisted wire and encased with a decorative notched carinated wire along with two (2) large silver drops. The silversmith then mounts a flared three point cone blossom on the under side. Each turquoise blossom measures 1" wide by 1 7/8" long up to 1 1/8" wide by 2 3/8" long. The extra large turquoise naja consists of a similar design around each stone as the side blossoms and are attached to a heavy gauge double carinated wire horseshoe base. The naja measures approximately 4 3/4" by 4 1/8". The full necklace measures 26 1/4" end to end with a wearable length of 16 3/4" long and is strung on heavy gauge foxtail chain with a large hook-n-eye clasp. It weighs a healthy 336.2 grams (11.86 ounces or 10.81 troy ounces)and is unsigned sterling silver. Beautiful, heavy, and bold squashblossom necklace! $999.95
