Item # 543F - Lg Heavy Vintage 70's-80's Navajo Turquoise Leaves Squashblossom Necklace
Large beautiful heavy vintage 70's-80's Navajo turquoise leaves squashblossom necklace! Made with a total of one hundred thirty six (136) silver 7mm seamed beads, ten (10) large turquoise nugget blossoms, and a seven (7) stone polished brilliant blue turquoise nugget naja. All of the turquoise nuggets are set in smooth bezels, wrapped with twisted rope, and stamped with decorative stamping around the outer rim of the setting. They are all brilliant blue with rust brown to dark brown matrix and some silvery pyrite. Each stone varies in size from 5/8" by 7/16" at bottom of naja to 1 1/8" by 5/8" which would be the largest blossom stone. The large stone at top of naja is 1" by 1". Each blossom consists of a turquoise nugget set in a smooth bezel, wrapped with twisted rope along with a decorative stamped outer rim, and two (2) three dimensional silver leaves connect with a silver drop. The leaves curve around the outer half of the stone setting with a three point tubular flute attached underneath. The blossoms measure 1 3/4" by 1 1/16" to 2" by 1 1/4" (fairly large!). The beautiful naja consists of seven (7) nuggets with a double leaf that's mounted under the center stone. The stones are set in smooth bezels, wrapped with twisted rope, and decorative stamped around the rim. The silversmith mounts the stones to a heavy gauge double half round wire naja base. The naja measures 3 3/8" by 3 1/8". The full necklace measures 26 1/2" end to end with a wearable length of 15 7/8" long and is strung on a heavy silver box chain with a hand made hook-n-eye clasp. It weighs 233.6 grams (8.42 ounces)and is unsigned sterling silver. Beautiful heavy squashblossom necklace! $924.95
