Large beautiful heavy vintage Navajo turquoise squashblossom necklace! Made with a total of one hundred sixty four (164) silver 8mm decorated seamed beads, twelve (12) turquoise nugget blossoms, and a ten (10) stone polished Cerrillos turquoise nugget naja. All of the turquoise nuggets are set in smooth split bezels with decorative stamping around each bezel. They are all green-blue with golden brown to rust brown matrix. Each stone varies in size from 1/2" by 3/8" at bottom of naja to 1 1/8" by 1". Each blossom consists of a turquoise nugget set in a decorative stamped smooth slit bezel and wrapped with twisted rope along with a decorative stamped three sided carinated wire with a silver drop and a three point tubular flute attached underneath. The blossoms measure 1 1/2" by 1" to 1 3/4" by 1 1/8". The beautiful naja consists of nine (9) nuggets with a single nugget that hangs in the center. The stones are set in decorative stamped smooth split bezels with two large silver drops separating each stone from the next. The silversmith adds twisted rope and decorative stamped carinated wire arching around the inside which everything mounted to a silver plate. The naja measures 3 1/8" by 3 1/8". The full necklace measures 30 1/2" end to end with a wearable length of 17 1/4" long and is strung on silver chain with a hook-n-eye clasp. It weighs 248.2 grams (8.75 ounces)and is hand stamped BP - Sterling. I attribute the necklace to Navajo silversmith Bennie Pinto. The silver beads are purposely decorated or hammered to look older. One bead has a bad dent on both sides and is located in an area where it would ride on the back of the neck so it won't be seen. Other than the bead the necklace is in great shape and very unique!$1479.95
