Item # 395T - Vintage Zuni Turquoise Snakes Bolo by Yatsattie
Lg beautiful vintage Zuni turquoise snakes bolo! Made with six (6) hand carved and polished blue turquoise nuggets with light brown and tan matrix. Each set in hand cut scallop bezels with two (2) decorative stamped silver snakes twisting around the stones. The snakes have inlaid turquoise eyes. The silversmith adds five placed silver drops throughout and mounts everything to a cast silver base with zig-zag snake symbol stamping around the outer rim. The large pendant measures 2 3/4" tall by 2" across and is attached to the black braided leather cord with a BENNETT PAT. PEND. thumb locking clasp. The leather cord measures 37" long which includes the 2 1/4" long sterling silver bead end tips. The complete bolo weighs a healthy 83.3 grams (2.84 ounces) and is stamped A. YATSATTIE - ZUNI by the Zuni artist Ann (Georgiana) Yatsattie. This artist is a daughter of Juan and Effie Calavaza. Guaranteed sterling silver. Made in mid to late 70's most likely. The Bennett patent expired in 1969. $169.95
