Beautiful vintage Navajo turquoise squashblossom! The shadowbox style was very popular in the 60's and 70's and it's still seen made these days. The necklace consists of one hundred thirty (130) silver 8mm seamed beads, ten (10) turquoise shadowbox blossoms, and a seven turquoise shadowbox naja. Each shadowbox consists of a single Royston turquoise stone set in a smooth bezel and mounted to a blackened base with a fully stamped dome silver with cut out. Every shadowbox measures 1" by 3/4" with the blossoms adding an extra 1/2" for the three prong flute. The naja measures 2 7/8" by 2 3/4" with a double wire support backing. The complete necklace measures 25 1/2" long end to end with a wearable length of 14 1/2" long. It's strung on nylon coated wire with a hand made hook-n-eye clasp. The necklace weighs 103.2 grams (3.64 ounces) and although there are some marks on the back I don't believe they are hallmarks so I'm going to say unsigned sterling silver.
