Item # 307H - Lg Vintage Navajo Turquoise Squashblossom Necklace

Very nice large vintage Navajo turquoise squashblossom necklace. Made with one hundred twenty six (126) smooth seamed silver beads, ten (10) turquoise blossoms, and a large five stone turquoise naja. Each blossom consists of  a single smooth polished stone set in a smooth bezel. Two silver drops on each side of the stone with a piece of twisted wire wrapping around the stone and connecting to a silver drop at each end. The artist added a half round wire that extends out further and connects to the silver drops forming a similarity of a crescent moon on blackened base silver. Each blossom stone measures 3/4" long and differ from 3/8" to 5/8" wide. The complete blossom measures 1 3/4" long to 1 7/8" long. The naja consists of five stones with similar design mounted to two heavy gauge carinated wires. It measures 3" by 3 1/4" across with the largest stone measuring 1 1/8" by 7/8" and the smallest being 5/8" by 5/8". Each stone has a multitude of black, brown, and tan splotchy matrix. Three of the stones have a yellow or yellowish white specks on them. Any other white is from camera flash. The necklace measures 26 1/2" long end to end with a wearable length of 15" long. It weighs a healthy 194.4 grams (6.86 ounces) and is unsigned sterling silver. The necklace is strung on nylon coated wire and has a hook-n-eye type clasp. Although the beads have been punched from inside out, I don't believe it's any older than 60's or 70's era.  $567.95
