Item # 299A - Vintage Amethyst Quartz Screw Type Earrings
Vintage 30's-40's amethyst quartz screw type earrings. The stones are really neat showing the change from clear quartz to amethyst, which is the purple form of quartz. The stones are shaped like a spherical cone cut in half. Set in smooth bezels and wrapped with twisted rope. Outside the stone the artist added coiled scrolls, twisted rope circles, twisted rope wrapped around silver drops, and standard scrolls turned at both ends. Set on a blackened base silver plate. Very decorative and stylish! Each earring measures 1 1/4" by 3/4" and with the screw clasps they each measure approximately 1 5/8" long. The screw clasp have a large silver half bead. They each weigh 4.3 grams (8.6 grams total) and are stamped SILVER MEXICO on the screw clasps. We can change these to either a french style hook or a beaded stud if requested. $64.95
