Beautiful and heavy reverse blossom turquoise squashblossom necklace. Made with one hundred thirty six (136) 8mm sterling silver beads, twelve (12) turquoise reverse blossoms, and a seven stone turquoise naja. Each blossom is reversed from normal necklaces with the fluted section before the stone nugget. The flutes are solid silver in the tips (not hollow) until they begin to flare out exposing a blackened base in which contains a nice light blue turquoise nugget with black spider webbed matrix. Some matrix has a reddish purple appearance. The blossoms measure from 1 5/8" by 3/4" to 1 3/4" by 3/4". The naja also has a blackened base with two silver drops between each stone and a single silver drop at each end. It measures 2 5/8" by 2 3/8". The complete necklace measures 25" end to end with a wearable length of 14 3/8" long. It's strung on metal "foxtail" chain with both the handmade hook and eye soldered to the chain. The necklace weighs 211 grams (7.44 ounces) and is unsigned sterling silver. Each turquoise stone is set in smooth bezels and the outer rims are lined with carinated (three sided) wire. I believe the turquoise is from the Dry Creek Mine whereas a couple of the stones are pale blue to almost white in areas. The silver beads have had the string holes punched from the inside prior to seaming them shut. This is a characteristic of pre-40's design, but I don't believe it's that old. We were told the necklace was made by Fred Guerro, but theirs no hallmark or signature. $699.95
