Item # 270H - Vintage 20's-30's Zuni Inlay Hummingbird Necklace





  Beautiful vintage 20's-30's era Zuni inlay necklace! Made with one hundred forty two (142) hand made and punched 7-8mm silver beads, four (4) 5-6mm beads (notice back side of naja), twelve (12) individual turquoise and coral inlay hummingbirds, and a two bird - three flower naja pendant made with turquoise, coral, and brown lip shell. Each bird measures approximately 1 3/8" by 1" and the naja measures 2 3/8" by 2 3/4" across. The complete necklace measures 27" long end to end with a wearable length of over 15". It is strung on silver link chain now, but I would imagine it originally was strung on twine and has a shepherd's hook and eye clasp. The necklace weighs 133.4 grams (4.71 ounces) and is coin silver or higher. Great example of early Zuni silversmith and lapidarist craftsmanship!  $1499.95
