70's 4 pc Turquoise Coral Ranger Buckle Set

Beautiful vintage 70's Zuni ranger buckle set made by Angelita Cheama! The Cheama family is well known for using top quality turquoise and other stones in their work. This particular set she has used eleven (11) polished quality turquoise nuggets and three (3) coral stem pieces in creating the four piece ranger buckle set. The buckle consists of five turquoise nuggets and two pieces of coral of which she added decorative sunray stampwork around the outer edge and a solid shell stamped guard next to the center turquoise stone for protection from the buckle pin as well as decoration. Both belt slides have two turquoise nuggets with guards on each outer side as well as silver drops between the stones. The end tip consists of two turquoise stones and a single coral with silver drops between the stones. All stones are set in scalloped bezels and are tight in their settings. The buckle measures 1 3/4" by 1 3/4" and can accommodate a belt up to 1" wide. The two belt slides measure 1 1/8" by 3/8" by 3/4" and the end tip is 1" by 7/8". It comes with a thick brown leather belt that measures 37" long with holes that will fit between a 28" to 32" waist. The belt does show some wear with some scratches and typical latch wear. It's complimentary and if I were to rate it on a 1 to 10 with 10 being new, I would give it a 7 or 8. The total weight with belt is 105.2 grams (3.71 ounces). It's hallmarked A. CHEAMA and is guaranteed Sterling Silver. Ms. Cheama has been producing since 1952 and was taught by her parents. Son is Wayne Cheama. (Hallmarks of Southwest p.48)  $209.95
