60's Hopi Overlay Turquoise Naja Necklace
Beautiful and unique Hopi necklace. Made with ten (10) silver overlay design concho's that measure 1 1/2" by 1" each with a textured base plate. One hundred thirty nine (139) silver 8mm seamed beads, and a 3" by 3 1/2" turquoise naja with seven (7) turquoise stones ranging from 3/4" by 5/8", 3/4" by 3/4", and 1" by 7/8". The turquoise is a beautiful sky blue with brown and golden rust matrix. Possibly Tyrone or Santa Rita turquoise? The necklace measures 27 1/2" long end to end and weighs 162.5 grams (5.73 ounces). It is stamped STERLING on both tips of the naja. I bought it as being made in the 1960's and it appears that it was possibly restrung whereas it's strung on nylon coated wire. I've worn it the last few days and the necklace wears very comfortably and you hardly notice it's on. $787.95
