Extra large vintage Hopi overlay "Man in the Maze" buckle. Made with the trademark Hopi textured base plate with the man in maze symbol cut out and overlaid. I believe this buckle was made in the 1950's but the back side shows possible evidence of maybe being earlier. The base plate show signs of hand stretching or rolling under a loupe. The belt hook or pin appears to be made from a nail? The buckle also shows evidence of the belt holder and pin being switched to opposite sides. The large buckle measures 4" across by 3" tall and weighs a heavy 96.3 grams (3.40 ounces). It will accommodate a belt up to 2 1/8" wide. The buckle has a few minor scratches from past wear, but is still in great wearable condition. Unsigned and guaranteed coin silver or better. $199.95
