Nice bold and heavy unisex necklace! Made with sixty (60) 7 mm round seamed beads and six (6) extra large melon beads (30 mm by 12 mm) all strung on a silver chain with a hook-n-eye clasp. The necklace has a large sandcasted turquoise naja pendant that measures 2 7/8" by 2 1/2". The necklace is quite a bit older than the naja. They appear to be coin silver (90%) compared to the newer naja which is sterling (92.5%) silver. The sandcasted naja has been antiqued and has a gem quality turquoise stone in the center that's set in a handcut saw toothed bezel. It has been hallmarked AJB - Sterling by the Navajo artists Alvin and Rose Boy. The naja is removable and can be worn without the naja or you can add your favorite pendant. The necklace weighs 68.6 grams (2.42 ounces) and measures 24" long. The original coin silver was made from melting silver coins, but was outlawed by the Federal Government in the late 30's. Making it illegal really didn't stop the process though. $239.95
