Nice vintage silver turquoise shadowbox necklace! Estimating it from the 40's or 50's. Made with an alternating pattern of round seamed beads and melon beads and strung on a silver chain. The necklace has forty (40) round beads and fourteen (14) hand made melon beads. The large turquoise pendant has a nice blue turquoise nugget with black matrix set in a serrated bezel and attached to a blackened base plate. The domed second plate has the cut out displaying the turquoise nugget with two designed cuts on either side along with three channel etched lines that run from top to bottom through the nugget. The pendant measures 2 5/8" by 1 5/8" and the necklace measures 27" long end to end. It weighs 55.3 grams. It appears the beads are made of coin silver with the pendant sterling silver. It has a hallmark of two dots applied by the artist. The design cut out makes me lean towards Hopi, but if not Hopi made it's definitely Navajo. $138.95
