Vintage Zuni Turquoise Pettipoint Hair Pin/Barrette
WOW!!! Extra large vintage Zuni turquoise pettipoint hair pin/barrette. Made of sterling silver and I believe 14K gold. The wire scrolls in the center appear to be gold and not brass. They don't tarnish like brass does. It also consists of forty four (44) turquoise pettipoint stones on the main piece and four (4) on the stick/pin. All set in hand cut saw toothed bezels with a silver bead dropped between each stone. The inner and center of the piece is lined with silver twisted rope with the larger piece forming a figure eight and a silver dome on the crossing. The main piece measures 2" wide by 4" long with the stick pin measuring 6 5/8" long by 3/4" wide at the decorated end. It weighs 44 grams (1.55 ounces).
