It reads as follows;
GLAZED PUEBLO POTTERY
At first glance it may seem that the highly decorated pottery of the Pueblo Indians were products of a people who could see and feel beauty in everyday life. While this is surely true, the pottery designs played an additional role than one would at first imagine.
These designs had great stability and meaning, they were used for high religious ceremonies of exciting influences in every phase of their lives as well as for cooking and holding water.
Each created pot had a specific purpose in their lives and were used only for that purpose. When that purpose was fullfilled, a hole was ceremoniously punched in the base of the pot to release that spirit, and the pot was usually destroyed.
This design ia as authentic as limitations allow in order to present the rich Indian culture in its proper perspective.
All sands used in this picture are natural except in cases where toning is necessary to create a harmonious design.
