Lg Turquoise, Elk Horn, and Badger Claws Bolo
Really
unique bolo! The talons were a popular addition to Indian jewelry during the 50's and early 60's. Set on a brass plate is a slab cut of I believe the base
of an elk horn. It has been polished smooth with two turquoise stones
and two bird talon claws attached to it. The turquoise stones have been set
in hand cut scalloped sterling silver bezels and the claws are set in
smooth sterling holders. The bolo measures 2 3/4" long by 2" wide and
weighs 88 grams. The largest turquoise nugget measures 1 5/8" by 1
3/8". It also has sterling silver end tips which appear to have
had attachments at one time. They can be replaced with regular tips.
The black braided leather strap measures 44" long to include the 2 1/4"
long tips. There is an etched hallmark on the back, but I can't make it
out. $154.95
